1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 210
So my dad aquired this 55 Chevy for me and him to build, hes been a classic car fabricator for 30+ years and me and him have never had a real project together so this is it! We have already swapped the chassis on it and we are builing it as a track/drag/daily. So basically we are incorporating my dads style and craftsmanship into a car that Handles well (full independent suspension) and a car that is drivable on the street. The body is going to be restored and a twin turbo LS motor along with a paddle shifted 5 speed automatic. Heres pics and some more info will soon folllow.

As rough as the body looks its a perfectly strait body, no cancer rust besides the rear hat shelf, and the floor boards are perfect!

Because that motor is one of the strongest factory motors made there are people pushing close to 900 wheel through those motors with a stock lower end. They sound are smooth motors and you can spin em out really good. I've been playing with one for. A week and I really like that motor. I had the opportunity to drive a gulstrand zr1 and that motor sounds so nice and is feels alot more responsive then the ls1 powered cars I've driven.

People bash the old zr1s that's because those fools are terrified of a v-8 with 16 injectors and butterfly's in the secondary runners. That motor is beastttt

Ain't no-one bashing.

Any plans to make that frame more of a unit with the body? I have an inherent queasiness about mixing body-on-frame cars and corners...but I have no experience.

Or will it be alright as is?

The frames on these cars are held onto the bod by I believe 14 bolts. They actually are really solid and the people that made the chassis have one that the Autocross on a normal basis. And I know no won is bashing the LT5. That motor just gives me the warm fuzzies if you know what I mean Smile.

Liek this?

If you say it's solid then it's solid. I'm a big fan of the X-beam in the frame. Looks beefy.

Regardless of your actual age, you have the aptitude of someone between 18-21. You're still a kid.

RE: 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 210
The cars rear differential was replaced when I was in the area last. Its a c4 running gear but we had a automatic setup in the back. The automatics came with a Dana 36 and it doesn't offer as much of a gear selection as the Dana 44 that cane in the manuals. So the Dana 44 was swapped in and it will also hold the power that we are hoping for.
