im pretty pissed off right now....

cleaned the bay on the weekend... spend real long with brake cleaner, soapwater and ****... looked pretty good as new... but then the water dried.....

Now it looks like it did before... not dirty anymore but stubby paint.. which looks exactly like dirt on good 412 paint... grrr

anyway... did the oilcooler plumbing with my dad.. those hoses arent controllable when youre alone... messed up 2 feet trying to manage it on my own Wink

So.. im between the fronts now... fabbing upper mounts to the bumper or to the GFK stuff? You can see a stripe of tape... like this or better to the bumpers rear aluminum plate

Brake cleaner will take the shine right out of paint, wash with soap and water, rinse well and apply some elbow grease via light rubbing compound.

Finish with wax, no more dead paint.

the Problem with BrakeCleaner is that it makes you show the real condition of paint without any polish/wax on it.. it does not eliminate any clearcoatings or something like that...

mh.... ill try the wax stuff next time Wink

If that doenst help i'll tell everybody that i repainted my bay with "patina" color which is rly expensive Big Grin

I forgot about the c/c, mine doesn't have, so I can always buff down to a fresh layer of color.

Getting pretty thin in some spots. Tongue

I suppose painting it would draw unwanted attention?

Then again looking at the engine, yeah...

Pretty free to modify as you please there?

Not surprised people we abusing it. Test is still only 2 speed idle (used to be dyno but no more) and stupid high limits. They look for a cat, muffler, sniff it, and check the gas cap. I don't see the big deal, they've been relaxing the standards on old cars cause it was costing them too much.

Do they care about suspension and brakes? Sounds like California with engine, and even then you really can't do much.

Oh yes for sure.. If you.. as i have.. changed something in anyway of your car like the suspension.. lowring springs n stuff the manufacturer has to register the kit.. if not, no entry to your vehichlepapers is possible (legally)

Also i had to have my suspension checked with steel wheels because only these are registered on that legalization of the springs is legally.. so.. in the hard matter... i legalized my car with steelies but with the BBS im driving illegally... but the police does not know that my wheels are illegallly... except they look in the my papers.. where they say my suspension is legally.... thats the point where i get nervous and hope that i can go on and theyre not checking more parts Wink

Tuning your car is crap in germany if you dont run a VW-Golf where you can buy everything with ABE... (ABE is a paper whichs allows the desired parts) off from ebay...

ehm.. yeah.. you know what i mean? Wink

Wow they check wheels?! That's crazy!

Looks like you've got some work to do wiring wise.

Which yoshifab kit is giving you trouble?
