Power Steering Cooler
I need to put a power Steering Cooler on the sedan, and I am wondering if anyone knows what size the hose is? I was figuring i would cool the return but I am open to other suggestions.

Was thinking something like this should work fine http://www.amazon.com/Hayden-Automotive-...13&sr=8-12

Also I was going to change to a synthetic fluid. Open to suggestions.

RE: Power Steering Cooler
Do it on the return.
the pressure on the pressure side is to high.
ATF dexron III is what i'm using.
But why do you need a cooler?
Is the fluid old?

New fluid, overheats doing autocross for example. I am going to try a synthetic too cause that's supposed to help but we'll see

Basically the pump cuts in and out and the fliuds starts pushing it's self out of the tank

Then the pump eats itself and contaminates the rack. Good times. Factory standard function on 2010 Camaro's.

That's what I am trying to avoid. Anyone know realistically how big of a cooler i need?

RE: Power Steering Cooler
I used a trans cooler off of an SHO Taurus when I'd prep 5th gen Camaro's. Something like 24x5x2, almost like a small intercooler. BARELY enough cooling on hot days at Spring Mountain. Realistically, any trans cooler should work well.

This.

If you have a heat exchanger laying around, use it.

RE: Power Steering Cooler
Back in my 5.0 days, we always used to ditch the stock noisy bent-tube fuckin' abortion of a stock PS cooler on the Fox-bodies and route the PS cooler lines to the auto trans heat exchanger in the HD/Cobra-spec radiators. Gain up to an additional quart of fluid in the system, no more noisy bent pipe POS and more consistent temps from the PS fluid.

I can't see any reason not to follow suit as a temp solution if you can't get an auxiliary 7/9 trans cooler soon enough.

I don't that's why I was gonna buy one on amazon. I did mention I have to drive an hour to a junkyard that doesn't crush euro cars on arrival or rape you on parts (they're a non self serve yard) right? I'm going to the track next weekend so I need something that's going to just work basically. I don't have time to dick with it right now

Just how long are your autocross courses? I'm wondering if there might be something else wrong if you need a cooler for your power steering... You might consider a dedicated efan for that cooler too, since most of those courses aren't exactly high-speed.

About 1 min or less. Usually slow speed very technical. Probably that's the reason.

I need a cooler for the 760. The Ford pump is actually quiet (no shit!) and I don't need it changing its mind.

I know the meaning of life.

RE: Power Steering Cooler
For the 760 you might use a 95+ 960 cooler which fits under the battery tray. It's simple but should help. I just think i need more than that has to offer.
