Nick, do you think with the walbro 255 feeding it into the mercedes kjet pump and 6an to the billet rail it will be good? i dont think that the mercedes pump will become a restriction? its going to have 12 gauge wiring feeding the pump to up the current.

A 255 feeding the Mercedes pump should be good for close to 500whp on E85. Back in the day we made 350whp on Josh's car with a bone stock LH fuel pump fed by a 255 in tank and there were no signs of running out of fuel on the supply end of things. A Mercedes pump outflows the stock pump by a fair margin, you're good as far a fuel pump goes for a while. The Mercedes pump alone, as far as flow goes is good for about 350ish whp on E85. Boosting external pumps with a 255 or the like does amazing things for fuel flow.

yea i saw the way josh's dyno sheet looked on the stock system and it was pretty jagged, im gonna have 6an from the benz pump feeding my rail which is also 6an and 1000cc injectors. im still on lh2.4 as well hopefully by the time im done ill be able to squeeze out 300whp

The plot of the dyno has nothing to do with the fuel pump.

Beyond 80psi, the difference in flow becomes exponential. The 044 keeps going where the Mercedes pump falls off in flow pretty quick.

bah... here's to me not remembering correctly... stupid beer Smile
i actually did think the MBZ k-jet out-flowed the 044 at high psi... good to know it doesn't, thanks for the correction... i hate to spread incorrect info.

i think most of the people that do the fuel system in their cars end up doing 8an from the sender to the pump and then 6an from pump to filter to rail.

You're going to want to put a baffle on that valve cover or something. Otherwise you're just going to suck up lots of oil.

Car is still running lean after 14I psi Sad running out of options with the lh2.4. Gonna run the ostrich for a while and see if I can get it to behave. I just acquired a 91 b230f engine that is known good. So I'm gonna pull the rods. Throw some h-beams in re ring and new bearings and a ton of head work and standalone. I'm looking into my options and so far a very attractive route is hondata.

What is "lean"?

Do you have any way of logging injector pulsewidth?

Lean is 12.5 on the gas scale. It doesn't stay at 12.5 it keeps climbing lean till I loose all my power. I'm doing the 6 an fuel system on Monday and am doing some prep work for the ostrich so I can get some live data and figure out what's goin on. I have a back probe with a led on it that I can use. It won't give me a pusewidth number but it may help a little

RE: 1988 B230ft Daily Driver/ Race Machine!
So I grabbed most of the pigtails for my harness from a later model 940 they are alot nicer then anyother Volvo wiring bits I've ever seen. They have the nice accordion at the connectors and the insulation is alot nicer and they are weather sealed on the back Smile so I need to grab some other bits still for it. I'm thinking about running a 5th injector using the cold start injector. But here's some pics of all the good shiz.

Don't run those wheels. Don't buy them. I thought they'd look rad on my car but they didn't.

Run the cold start as alky injection.

Does your cell phone work? Call or PM me. Thanks again for the shirts. They are awesome!

RE: 1988 B230ft Daily Driver/ Race Machine!
So I did a bunch of wiring today and moved some stuff around. I mounted the lh2.4 fan relay right next to the power distribution block and I did the second relay on the fuel pump. Which made a huge difference believe it or not! Fo for those who don't know how to do this I will explain.
take a relay 5 or 4 prong and you use the stock wiring to power th coil. You have seen the fuel pump wiring before it is tiny! Then what I did was run a 10gauge wire from the battery to the fixed part of the internal switch in this case it was the 30. Then I ran 10gauge into the tank and to the pump along with running a 10gauge ground on the pump as well. The pump side of the relay need s to be on the post that only reciever power when the relay is energized in this case it was 87. I will post pics and a video you can here a huge difference when turning the key into the on position. Its quite obnoxious actually
