RE: the greenie meanie
ok, I can do that. Something broke in the exhaust system the other day, resulting in boost pressures substantially higher than it's been doing. (from 13ish to say... 17-18.. I'd guess at least). still burns oil.

I plan to go forward with some of the new stuff in the next week or two, will probably go ahead and swap the 16v on at that time as well, but just not turbocharge it right away (don't have all the stuff yet for that)

correction, the exhaust is not in as bad a shape as I thought, I just have a split in the wg hose somewhere. I'll fix it next week.

use and abuse! the first real work in a year begins tonight!

pulling the head to cut the reliefs in the slugs, maybe re-assembling (maybe not, who knows. I'm lazy, getting the head off won't take me more than an hour or so, but putting it back together may take a week haha)

YEA BITCHES WRENCH TIME BABY!

I've gotten slow (and someone has kiked my fucking 13mm ratcheting wrenches goddamnit) in my old age, it took me probably an hour and 15 minutes to get the head off the wagon (better than half of that time was spent fucking around with the OE turbo stuff and working around all that to get the manifold off the head. turbo-> manifold nuts were *not* moving)

cut reliefs, and on the 3rd one one of the cutters snagged hard and apparently altered itself a little bit (read: it bent the shaft right around the cutter). motherfucker. figures out of 12 pistons cut, #11 would fuck me in the ass somehow.

anyway, the urge to put a twin cam head on is strong, I think I'll go ahead and do that and rock it NA for a little while, so a 3 day weekend should see some 16v daily d action from the heeb. might also fix my a/c while I'm at it.

RE: the greenie meanie
and it runs, but this project is far from done. apparently my mockup didn't line up quite the same or I left something off, the oil filter absolutely blocks the b234f manifold outlet, so the filter relocation is on in full swing now. I'll also need to space out the accessories a little as well, but that isn't difficult.

most of the wring reaches, but I'll need to detach the harness to get the tps to reach.

RE: the greenie meanie
payday looms, oil filter reloc kit will be ordered to address that part of the problem (which will greatly shorten the transition to boostage, but still probably won't happen til july)

but goddamnit I cannot find my fuel rails. I dunno where the fuck they got packed, the neat storage that was there is about to get turned upside down.

I have a DD, it's not even that. I can't find a fucking thing anymore since this goddamn move. I had *everything* set aside and ready to go. Somewhere around this fucking place there's a box labeled "16v swap shit" that has all my stuff in it, but I'll be goddamned if I can find the fucking thing.

and the oil filter adapter fucking leaks too. son of a bitch.
